Product Performance

310 stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel alloy with excellent oxidation resistance and high temperature strength. Due to its high chromium and nickel content, 310 has good corrosion resistance, although it is not as resistant to pitting corrosion as some other austenitic steel grades. 310 also has good creep strength and can be used up to 1150°C for continuous use or 1200°C for intermittent use. The high temperature strength of 310 is due to the presence of stable secondary carbides that form upon prolonged exposure to high temperatures.
